This is a story every American should know by heart. This is the story of Medal of Honor recipient Rodney Maxwell Davis. 57 years after he was killed in the war in Vietnam I followed his daughter to the location where he fell on a grenade to save 5 Marines' lives. **I could not have told this story without the help of so many people including all of the people on this trip, John Hollis, Colonel Martin Jeremy Bowling, Major Chuck Casey, many many members of the Davis family, John Brackeen's grandson, Steve, the support of the people at NewsChannel 9 in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Sinclair Broadcast Group, the support of my amazing wife and the grace she gave me for all of the hours invested into telling this story, and well as many other people who I asked for advice or to watch the rough draft, etc. I will forever be grateful for all of you. **A HUGE THANKS to John Hollis. For this story we followed the family of Medal of Honor Recipient Rodney Maxwell Davis as they visited the exact spot Sgt. Davis was killed in action. During what's know as Operation Swift during the Vietnam War, Rodney Davis sacrificed his life and saved 5 fellow Marines.
