Click here to watch part 2: • Driving in Barbados - Highway Run: Spring ... The Spring Garden Highway is a major highway running along the southwestern part of Barbados. Starting from Black Rock and ending at Holbourn Circle near the famous cricket stadium, Kensington Oval, the highway was built in 1983 and connects the west coast to Bridgetown. Famous beaches like Brandons and the 'Hot Pot' are located off this highway which is also an important gateway to the Bridgetown port. The highway was renamed the Mighty Grynner Highway in 2019 in honour of the Mighty Grynner, one of the island's most beloved soca artistes. The ABC Highway is a long highway running from Black Rock, St. Michael to Coverley, Christ Church, ending in the area of the Grantley Adams International Airport. Built in 1989, it is the longest highway in Barbados, connecting the western, eastern and southern sides of the island. It comprises of three different highways: the Gordon Cummins Highway (from Black Rock to Warrens), the Errol Barrow Highway (from Warrens to Graeme Hall), and the Tom Adams Highway (from Graeme Hall to Coverley). The highway was originally a two-lane highway until 2007 when the Errol Barrow Highway was widened to four lanes. The ABC Highway runs through the parishes of St. Michael and Christ Church.
