The Paleozoic Era (541–252 million years ago) marks a dramatic explosion of life and the rise of complex ecosystems on Earth. Beginning with the Cambrian Explosion, oceans teemed with diverse marine creatures such as trilobites, brachiopods, and early fish. Over millions of years, life expanded from the seas to the land. The first plants took root, followed by insects and amphibians, transforming the planet’s landscapes. Meanwhile, the continents merged into the supercontinent Pangaea, altering global climates and environments. The Paleozoic was also a time of great change and challenge, ending with the Permian Mass Extinction, the largest in Earth’s history, which wiped out nearly 90% of marine species. Yet, this era laid the foundation for future life forms and ecosystems. The Paleozoic tells the story of Earth’s first forests, ancient seas, and the incredible expansion of life from water to land—setting the stage for the Mesozoic Era. ------------------------------------------------------ #MomentsInHistory #worldhistory #history #ancienthistory #contemporaryhistory #historyfacts #historydocumentary #historychannel #historyexplained #historymystery #historylovers #historytreasure #historyfamous Copyright © 2025 Gerry de Cadiz.
