Provided to YouTube by John_Banana Give Me the Ball · Eminem Give Me the Ball - Single ℗ 2007 Shady Records/Interscope Records Confirmed to be the first song Eminem worked on after getting out of rehab in early-mid 2008. This was a song I believe he wrote for fun to warm back up into making new music, and also to possibly promote the Detroit Pistons during the end of their 07-08 NBA season in the playoffs. This would likely not be on a studio album, and instead feels more like a mixtape/random track. Why would it be a random promo track / mixtape track - In the song he mentions 3 Detroit players - Chauncey Billups, Rasheed Wallace, and Tayshaun Prince. He also samples "Deeeee-troit baksetball" over and over ( • DETOIT BASKETBALL ), and of course, the entire track is basketball themed. With all that said, it seems weird that this song would be on the King Mathers album/mixtape, which was more focused on personal/dark subjects, leading to me believe Give me the Ball was for something else. Finally, the song has zero swear words, in fact, there's no vulgar subject material whatsoever, which makes me feel like Em purposefully left it clean because the song was meant to promote the Detroit Pistons on TV or at games. It's also possible there was some scrapped collaboration mixtape between Detroit artists and Eminem made this song for it, but the mixtape ended up getting scrapped. You can download the single here (Comes with something extra!): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Wfr9... Also, I have extended the outro by about 20 seconds, and the song has been slightly remastered. Auto-generated by Gnarls Barkley.
