Discovery Sport tailgate misalignment: fix and adjust the alignment back to Land Rover specification
The tailgate (or liftgate as JLR call it) was never a good fit on my Discovery Sport since I bought it. I half tried to adjust it but it soon slipped back out of alignment. A recent broken rear screen (totally random, no idea how it happened!) meant I had to remove all the internal plastics and the top tailgate spoiler, which makes adjusting the tailgate a little easier. Plus you can remove the bolts and add a thread locking compound to hopefully stop the tailgate from moving out of adjustment in the future. The torque setting for the bolts are... Large bolt into the car body is 24N Two smaller bolts in the tailgate are 25N
