From the "Face" eyecatcher promo, "Different Ways of Talking". Original Motion Picture Date: May 22, 1977 Original Film Release: May 23, 1990 Recreation Variant Creator: Kimani H. Albright Re-Printer: Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers Logo Distributor: Viacom Enterprises, Inc. Exporter: VideoPad Video Editor My third 16mm-filmprint recreation of the Nick Jr. "Face" eyecatcher promo collection ever acquired. There are lots of rare frames in the leaders of this short film. The odd-looking lettering at the head leader frames were fixed together with the special trimmings, showing the monochrome-printed Nick Jr. Films logo on both ends of the titling leader; as it actually reads "CET FILMS", then with a short in-between delay reads "FACE IN ACT III ON FILMED SECTION" (where the logo ends pop up), and a few seconds later reads "[TITLE] VIACOM", and then with another short in-between delay reads "[NO.] SIDE ONE OF TWO", and finally with the same interval rate reads "LEAD" instead of "HEAD", because this print release refers the beginning as the "lead" of the entire cine-film roll. At the ending, there was the same lettering used, except it ended with the titles that read "[NO.] SIDE TWO OF TWO" and "TAIL". The key on this process was the rearrangement of the letterings based on the original recreation of a biased version of the BBC Film Countdown Leader in the "BBC Nationwide" segment, recreated by Dave Jeffery and originally released by the British Broadcasting Corporation back in somewhat the 1960's, perhaps. The head leader used most of its features in addition, too, such as the "[PRINTER START]" frame. As with other leader fixings, both the custom recreation and the "recording capture" variant of the original SMPTE Society Leader were both used in an obsolete manner. Not only that, the tail leader used both custom recreations of the foot frames for the SMPTE Universal and Society Leaders, in that order. Automatically stabilized, the telecine system controls the film entirely differently, with no wrapping errors (…almost), but with the warping audio quality running almost perfectly in shape. The 1990 Nick Jr. Films logo is still being used, but after the eyecatcher promo, the Viacom Enterprises "V of Doom" logo is in the same exact "recording capture" variant as in the first promo film, still with the re-colorization process being enhanced to become the "filmed" variant. However, I am still pleased to offer the result of this unforgettable masterpiece release. One last thing I've recognized, after the tail frames roll up at the moment the reel of the film will be running out, it appeared that with all the raggedy movement throughout come two circuits broken and needs placement thereafter. That would get a chance for a disposal, but I would never dispose my recreations because they are special masterpieces in my library. Maybe it has something to do with the threading on my telecine projector system, but it was no big problem at all... Who would ever that I would get a motion picture that ends up doing that?! Oh, well...no worries! Looking on the bright side, there's the prototype-only version of this video coming up next, so please stick around to see it without my watermark. I hope you enjoy these films so far, now that's being called a "trilogy". And another thing, the reason there was a label "CET FILMS" is that the Children's Educational Television & Radio Center was elegant to support 16mm-filmprint recreations for Nick Jr.—as its "preschool" part of the organization—in order to make their learning films an improvement for all of its treasuries, just like digging up something lost in time and showing it to members of the general public. So, with all that being said, let's take a look for yourself! May you wish me good luck...
