In todays video, we take a look at replacing the XJ40 fuel pump. The video covers the pump fitted externally, typically found on earlier models. Later models used an in tank setup. If I were to undertake the job again, I would recommend doing so with a tank that is mostly empty. However, this is not always possible. Parts required: Bosch fuel pump for the XJ40 (comes with the correct connections when purchased via specialists) A replacement fuel filter Fuel pipe that runs from the fuel pump output to the pump input (optional but given what I went through, I would recommend it) Copper washers, assorted. 10mm, 7mm, 8mm, 9mm, 17mm sockets 19mm, 17mm, 22mm and adjustable spanners.
