The walk starts from Braithwaite Village church (free parking for approx 10 cars)NY 22922 23597 6.66 miles /10.71km and 644m ascent. Causey Pike 637m Scar Crags 672m The route is the easiest option to summit Causey Pike . THE descent route from Scar Crags is exposed and eroded so care is required. This ridge offers fantastic views over The Newlands Valley , over to Helvellyn, The Scafells, Pillar , The buttermere skyline , Skiddaw and is part of The Coledale Horseshoe , which offers a long but rewarding day amongst the lakeland mountains.
