One of the biggest things I noticed in Gabon was how intentional they are about protecting their environment. They make it extremely difficult to disrupt nature — whether it’s oil rigs, logging, or large-scale development. At the same time, they’re trying to grow GDP, expand tech, and build new industries, which always creates tension with conservation. Watching leaders navigate that balance felt like witnessing a real-time case study in what sustainable development could look like. It also reminded me why I want to stream my conservation adventures one day — to show people that wildlife, even spiders, deserves understanding instead of fear. Nature is not fragile because it is weak; it is fragile because human decisions carry weight. Gabon proves that protecting biodiversity can be a national priority, not just a side conversation.
