© 2020 David Myers I cannot say enough about the priceless association I've had with the Samurai Of Prog over the past 10 years. Being included in their album projects has been a singular privilege, and a tremendous source of inspiration for me such that I wonder how different life would be without it. Steve, Marco and Kimmo deserve immeasurable praise for what they have done to promote the progressive rock community; I am in awe with what they have achieved over the years. I just happened to have finished re-reading 'The Alchemist' when I was invited to contribute a track to the 'La Tierra' project, so the caravan detail of the novel conveniently inspired me for this backstory: 'La Tierra' is the story of "The Seekers", a group of musicians who find inspiration in archaeology; they search for a connection with the ancestral, discovering stories and myths in the Atacama Desert. The importance of rescuing ancient history is a way of uniting the past with the future; their goal is to uncover ancient stories as a way of nurturing themselves with the energy of the past. They focus on the importance of telling stories through music as a way of linking history directly to the soul. The band has a mobile studio so they go deep in the desert looking for inspiration. They compose and record on site.
