This is the second video of two on AI. Using music as an example to follow, I offer some nascent thoughts on artificiality and originality. I’m trying to think longterm here, not today or tomorrow. The Enlightenment concepts of we have of the virtues of science and knowledge will have to shift so that we may remain human. I’m proposing a de-habituation of intelligence, a critical examination of capitalism, and a nurturing of originality against the artificial. This is no Luddite polemic against technology. We cannot destroy the artificial. AI will do what it will do. But we can do different. 00:00 Review of Part 1 01:19 AI in art, life, and work 03:48 Art vs content 06:41 Musicians and DJs 10:43 Writing, education, and capitalism 13:20 The human becoming artificial 17:34 Addressing current and future needs ©James Batcho, 2023 Creative Philosophy is a channel of original thought pieces, completed essays, and nascent ideas at the intersections of philosophy and creative arts.
