Commonly known outside Transylvania as Dracula's Castle, it is marketed as the home of the title character in Bram Stoker's novel, Dracula. Count Dracula is an undead, centuries-old vampire and a Transylvanian nobleman inspired by Vlad the Impaler also known as Vlad Dracula // Vlad Țepeș // Vlad III Dracula. Vlad Țepeș was Voivode of Wallachia three times between 1448 and his death in 1476, he was part of House of Drăculești & House of Basarab. Vlad Țepeș (or Vlad the Impaler) in Romanian historiography, got this name because of his connection to the impalement, believed to be his favourite method of execution. Bran Castle, located in Bran, 25 km southwest of Brașov, it is national monument and landmark in Transylvania, museum dedicated to displaying art and furniture collected by Queen Marie.
