Demonstration of esophageal components being separated to repair a dilated or mega-esophagus in a 10-year-old boy. Component separation is not a new operation, but it has never been applied to an esophageal defect in this fashion. Developed at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital by Dr. Jason Smithers.
