Train Cab Ride NL / Cancelling my Train?! / Enkhuizen - Hoorn - Enkhuizen / VIRM IC-Empty / July '24

Hi everyone! And welcome on board a brand new ride. This time our ride unfortunately gets disrupted in Hoorn. But nevertheless that created a unique filming situation for us. For the passengers it was not a success story. You'll see! 0:00 Enkhuizen We start our ride in Enkhuizen. At the start of the video I mention the starting track and let you know we'll finish the ride at the track on the left. How come? I'll show you in Hoorn. Until then: we take our passengers to that station first! Enjoy the stunning views with the evening sun on the horizon. 2:50 Bovenkarspel Flora First stop on the line. The line between Enkhuizen and Hoorn is single tracked. Intercity's need to pass each other at the stations with two tracks. The infrastructure can handle trains every 15 minutes if needed. 5:28 Bovenkarspel-Grootebroek On departure from Flora we are at the light signal that allows entering the next station already. Just a short ride on low speed between these two stations. And there's the train in the opposite direction as well. 11:37 Hoogkarspel We're driving the intercity service, but on this part of the line we have to make stops on all stations on our way. The standard train schedule is set to trains every 30 minutes in every direction. 18:17 On approach to Hoorn Kersenboogerd we encounter a yellow signal that's normally green. This mean we are not welcome at the next station yet. The reason why I don't know. As you will see a few moments later we are approved to enter the station. That's the reason we encounter two yellow signals after each other. The second one was red when we past the first yellow signal. 23:16 Steam Line Medemblik - Hoorn Joining in the right side the museum line between Medemblik and Hoorn vv. 23:33 Hoorn (Police Assistance) After arrival in Hoorn I had to cancel the noise in the video. Therefor I fast forwarded it for half a minute for you. Over 30 minutes pass by as we need police assistance on board of the train due to a passenger not behaving. Don't worry: no one was hurt and all was handled of easily by the train manager and the police. But before all was done the next intercity to Maastricht was already approaching. Therefor our passenger changed trains and our train got cancelled here. In the fast forwarded part of the video you can see other trains needed to be changed to other platform because we we're occupying track number 3. 25:35 Hoorn (Empty Train Back to Enkhuizen) Our train got cancelled and needed to be driven back to Enkhuizen ASAP to create space at the station in Hoorn. That's why we won't be taking any passengers with us. Passenger towards Enkhuizen use the normal intercity services running every 30 minutes. With a delay of almost 10 minutes we depart back towards Enkhuizen. 27:23 Steam Line Hoorn - Medemblik On the left this time the museum line towards Medemblik. 27:40 Hoorn Kersenboogerd (Waiting for Train) At Hoorn Kersenboogerd we must wait for the passenger train coming from the opposite direction due to our delay. There was nothing to see in the main time, so I skipped some time to when the train actually arrives. Unfortunately you can see multiple road users not following the rules. Two cars are running a red light. Just don't ever do that! Even on a single tracked line train can follow up really fast! 31:06 Non-stop towards Enkhuizen! With a 15 minute delay we depart towards Enkhuizen. Let's see if we can get it there before the next intercity from Enkhuizen will depart towards Hoorn. Causing an extra stop for us. Let's goooo! 35:39 Hoogkarspel First station without a stop. 37:43 Bovenkarspel-Grootbroek We encounter a yellow sign meaning we must wait at the next stop. But fortunately the train dispatcher sees what is going on and gives us the green light anyway. :D 38:58 Bovenkarspel Flora Passing Flora on full speed as well. Getting almost back on schedule. 39:30 Enkhuizen On arrival at Enkhuizen we are led to one of the shunting tracks. To come there we must first lower our speed to 40km/h because we must drive on sight at the yard of Enkhuizen to enter the shunting track. You can see the train towards Hoorn and Maastricht waiting already. That train departs with just a minute delay due to waiting on us. Not a big problem. :) So, here we are! Back in Enkhuizen. I hope you enjoyed the ride. Unfortunately we could not get our passengers on their destination this time. Hopefully passengers will behave next time! Let me know what you think of the ride!
