Hey everyone! In this video, I dive into a fascinating phenomenon I call the "three drink problem" and how it relates to autism and Asperger's syndrome 📲 Chaos To Confidence: https://www.theaspieworld.com/c2c As someone living with high functioning autism, I noticed this quirky habit in myself and others on the autism spectrum. Let’s unpack what it means and why it’s not just about hydration but also about dopamine, sensory processing, and focus! What Is the Three Drink Problem? The three drink problem is this habit many autistic individuals, including those with Aspergers syndrome, have of juggling multiple drinks at once. For me, it’s usually: A hot drink (like tea ☕️) for comfort and calm. A fruity or sugary drink 🥤 for that dopamine boost. Good old water 💧 to stay hydrated. 00:00 Autism Sensory Seeking 01:21 Sensory Processing Disorder 02:20 Autism And Dopamine 04:43 Autism And Food Sensory Issues 07:00 Autism And Caffeine Focus Why? It’s all about balancing sensory input and keeping that slow-release dopamine drip going throughout the day. It’s a small but impactful way of managing focus, adult autism symptoms, and sensory needs. How It Connects to Autism and Sensory Processing For many of us with Aspergers or high functioning autism, sensory processing disorder plays a big role in our daily lives. These drinks offer different sensory experiences—warmth, sweetness, or the refreshing taste of water—that satisfy our sensory-seeking tendencies. And let’s not forget, dopamine is key for helping with focus and emotional regulation, which are often challenges for people with Aspergers symptoms or autism in adults. Why Caffeine Helps Autistic Adults If you’re wondering why I sometimes include caffeine in the mix, it’s not random! For people with ADHD and autism, caffeine can actually help calm the mind and improve focus. Think of it as a natural way to regulate those intense, fast-paced thoughts many of us experience. Signs of Autism in Adults and the Role of Dopamine One sign of autism in adults, especially for those with Asperger's syndrome, is the constant search for dopamine. Whether it’s through special interests, sensory experiences, or quirky habits like the three drink problem, it’s all about finding balance in our lives. Join the Three Drink Crew!
