In this video I take you on a Solo wild camp on top of Whernside, Whernside is the tallest of the Yorkshire 3 peaks standing at an impressive 736m, Ingleborough is the next tallest standing at 723m and is closely followed by Pen Y Ghent which is 694m tall, although PYG is the smallest its still a very impressive mountain in its own right and is my favourite of the 3. I have already Solo wild camped on PYG (video is on the channel) which now leaves Ingleborough to complete the trio, which is coming soon. The walk starts at the car park on Blea Moor Road and heads past the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct, we work our way up towards Blea Moor signal box then up to the stunning Force Gill Waterfall. After the waterfall we take in the far reaching views of the Yorkshire Dales and the Tarn Below the Summit. Once reaching the Summit I find Shelter from the building winds and rain behind a dry stone wall and pitch the Tent, Most of the evening is spent hunkered down inside the tent supping a few beers and having some supper. Due to the weather theirs no sunset or sunrise but the fog and cloud inversion make for an equally impressive spectacle to sit and watch. In the morning I break camp and make a swift decent following the route up in reverse. Cheers Stu. Kit I use.
