There are 52 alternate worlds in the DC multiverse. This number 52 is often seen in The Flash and the writers have put great effort into including it in the episodes. The number 52 is also a reference to the "New 52" series that was launched in 2011. In The Flash, the number 52 is commonly seen on Channel 52 on the news. But it often comes in other places as well, such as newspaper clippings from The Flash's first episode about the death of Barry Allen's mother. Officers from the 52nd division arrested Barry Allen's father and this was also shown in the news story in the newspaper. Science Showcase The Science Showcase is a magazine, which covers topics related to science and technology. This magazine was first seen when Barry Allen appeared on Arrow's Season 2 episode "The Scientist" when he is using the magazine to cover his head in the rain. Later, we see him using the same magazine in the first episode of the Flash. The cover of the magazine asks whether the Star Labs Particle Accelerator is safe. The name of the magazine is also important as Barry Allen made his debut in Showcase number 4. Including Science Showcase on The Flash was a cross-network Easter egg! A League of Justice One of the most amazing Easter eggs on The Flash is the mural at the Central City Police Department. The mural has Justice written on it as well and it depicts the Justice League as the Greek Gods on it. Truly amazing! Production Designer Tyler Harron created the mural and he shared his thoughts by saying, "When I found out that I was going to do this show, this was the first thing that I designed. I've always been a huge DC fan and so it was really easy for me to say that I need to put this one Easter egg in here. All of the sets were based off of this." A Society of Justice When Barry Allen visits Earth-2, he notices a lot of changes from Earth-1. For example, the architecture is more like the 1940's style. As discussed earlier, the mural on Earth-1 depicts the Justice League; however, on Earth-2 the mural depicts old school military propaganda on the wall and it reads, "A free and just society." This was a reference to Earth-2 being home to the Justice Society of America. Wethersby and Stone LLP Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim have worked together before the Arrowverse. They co-created a series named Eli Stone, which lasted only 2 seasons. It was about a lawyer named Eli Stone that had a brain tumor. Due to the tumor, he often hallucinated and believed that he was talking to God. He did what he thought God was telling him to do. In the series, his girlfriend was Taylor Wethersby. A homage was given to these characters in The Flash's season 2 when Harrison Wells left Star Labs to Barry Allen, the envelope of the will was from a law firm named "Wethersby and Stone, LLP.” The Future Crisis One of the hidden details you might have missed is that Harrison Wells has a futuristic copy of the Central City Citizens. The newspaper is dated April 25, 2024, and has a headline claiming that Flash has vanished in crisis. If we refer to the comics, it is the 1985 "Crisis on Infinite Earths" comic event being referred to here. In this event, Barry Allen sacrifices his own life to save the entire universe. This could be a hint that the end of The Flash is Barry Allen gone missing. However, Barry Allen has the ability to time travel, the events may reverse, or Barry might come back for good. Let's see what happens next! John Wesley Shipp and Tony Bellows The Flash is being continued from the previous series of The Flash that aired from 1990 to 1991 on CBS Drama. The current Flash cast John Wesley Shipp, who played the Flash on the previous series. Another character was a cop used for comic relief named Tony Bellows.
