This video has the Australind set # 2 arriving into Bunbury Terminal on Friday 13th March 2026. And also, catching another video of it at Brunswick Junction. As the engineering team on board headed back to Perth via Byford station. The Australind railcar service, Perth to Bunbury, travels along the South West Main. Just east on the outskirts of Bunbury City is Aurizon's Picton rail yard and locomotive depot. The Australind service continues onto Bubury Terminal, after passing through Picton Jcn rail yard. Onto it's own dedicated track, away from the freight line that heads to Bunbury Port area. With the section of track to Bunbury Terminal being inactive since the last Austtalind train service since November 2023. Rust on the rails, has caused six road level crossing protection lights and boom gates, to be not fully operative. Hence in this video, you'd see the ARC Infrastucture accredited officer onboard the train, alight to manually de-ctivate the flashing lights, and boom gate vehicle barrier. Six times in fact! In just a short distance through the local streets of Bunbury. Once the rails have been fully descaled of rust, those six level crossing lights will be fully functional. The ARC Infrastructure officer on board these Australid test trains, when operating on the ARC Train Control freight lines. Is an track accredited and qualified Watco train driver. Friday 13th of March 2026.
