The Bargerveen nature reserve is a remnant of the ancient Bourtanger Moor and is located in South-East Drenthe, near the German border. Over the past 50 years, the Province of Drenthe (and not the Dutch State Forestry Service) has been purchasing more and more pieces of (agricultural) land and returning them to nature. The State Forestry Service is the manager of this nature reserve. Sometimes there are old dilapidated houses on the acquired land. These are demolished. By the way, the first house was not built around 1954 but in 1928. All 15 children of the family were born there, and they lived there until 1954. The original video was translated to English and sent to the "International Festival of Amateur Historical Films 2024" in Shumen Bulgaria (where it received the Best Camera award!).
