Depending on your medical history, you may have to stop taking certain medications prior to your procedure. Each patient is required to do a pre-operative physical to ensure you are healthy enough to undergo surgery. Some mild discomfort can occur following surgery, although we do not expect significant pain. In the case of ptosis, the main risk involves finding the appropriate amount of lift and symmetry. Rarely, the eyelids will heal with greater than one millimeter of difference in symmetry. In this case, a surgical revision may be necessary.
