Here is a concert of Jarabe Mexicano performing a set, featuring musical styles ranging from Mexican Folk, Rock and Roll, and Norteño/Tex-Mex to Latin Rock, Trio Romanitco, and popular Cumbia. Jarabe Mexicano captures the nostalgic spirit of their border roots with their brand of "Bordeño-Soul", which honors the musical tastes and cultural influences of its members. Jarabe, which translates to "concoction", highlights the eclectic mix of genres they perform. Their traditional Mariachi string instruments and Norteño-inspired drums complement dramatic vocals in English, Spanish, and Spanglish, and shows how this multi-generational ensemble embraces change while still honoring the past. @JarabeMexicano is Lead Vocalist- Gustavo "Tavo" Alcoser, Jr (Managing Director & Educational Outreach Coordinator) Percussion- Daniel "Danny" Brito (Artistic Director & Educational Outreach Coordinator) Guitarron and Vocals- Antonio Pro Vibuela and Vocals- Eduardo "Eddy" Valencia (Educational Presenter) Guitar- Francisco Esteban "Steve" Smith (Educational Presenter) Enjoy! _______________________________ TIME STAMPS 0:01:35 Cieleto Lindo -Mexican folk song popularized in 1882 by Mexican author Quirino Mendoza y Cortés 0:02:39 La Bikina by Rubén Fuentes 0:05:30 Serenata Huasteca by José Alfredo Jiménez 0:10:53 No Tengo Dinero by Juan Gabriel 0:17:08 Hey Baby Que Paso by Bill Sheffield/Augie Meyers 0:19:16 Wasted Days And Wasted Nights by Freddy Fender/ Wayne Duncan/ Huey Meaux 0:22:03 Como Quien Pierde Una Estrella by Alejandro Fernandez 0:26:01 Get up, Stand Up (Semillas) by Bob Marley/ Peter Tosh 0:32:37 El Rey by José Alfredo Jiménez 0:36:48 El Ausente by Pastor López 0:42:10 Cien Años (Forever) by Ruben Fuentes/ Alberto Cervantes 0:49:20 Donna/ We Belong Together by Richie Valens/ Robert Carr/ Johnny Mitchell/ Hy Weiss 0:53:55 Cumbia Del Sol by Hector Quintero 1:00:14 Lamento Boliviano by Dimi Bass/ Natalio Faingold 1:03:58 La Negra Tomasa by Guillermo Rodriguez Fiffe 1:09:33 Volver, Volver by Fernando Z Maldonado 1:14:51 El Tilingo Lingo by Lino Carrillo Ramirez 1:19:52 Suavecito, Suavecito by Aurelio Rodriguez Esquivel 1:25:58 Hermoso Cariño by Fernando Z Maldonado 1:30:14 Close To You by Burt Bacharach/ Hal David 1:37:20 La Yaquesita by Manuel Rodrigo Gocobachi Figueroa 1:43:22 La Bamba & Twist and Shout by Ritchie Valens / Phil Medley / Bert Berns 1:48:50 Malagueña by Elpidio Ramirez / Pedro Galindo _______________________________ Filmed at El Camino College in Torrance, CA Equipment: Lumix Gh5s (having no IBIS was something different to work with, especially testing the 100-300m(!))
