While the first single, “Stomach Butterflies,” explored the energy of love, this second track addresses what remains after love fades. It’s painful, honest, and familiar to almost everyone. “Someone New” serves as the emotional counterpoint to “Stomach Butterflies,” revealing hidden aspects and desires of the human soul. “It’s about that moment after a breakup when emotions come crashing in waves: first love, then anger, disappointment, and finally the cutting truth. You’ve been betrayed. You’ve given your heart to the wrong person. But this song isn’t about pain for pain’s sake—it’s about acceptance, letting go, and moving forward. I want listeners to see themselves in this story because we’ve all been there,” explains the singer about the premiere. Work on the new English-language album is ongoing in real time. This isn’t about an album tucked away in a drawer—it’s a creative laboratory where Barskih experiments with producers and musicians from around the world, building upon musical material accumulated over recent years.
