This video demonstrates how to create AutoCAD Block definitions and Write Block definitions. This video is demonstrated in AutoCAD MAC 2025. Blocks are dependent upon the file they were created within; whereas a Write block, or Wblock, as it is referred to in AutoCAD, is a block reference which exists external to the file it was created. Within the Write block definition there is the option to simultaneously create a block in the working file as well. Blocks and Write Blocks are powerful entities, and can include embedded attributes as well, which can be linked to schedules.
