Sometimes we need to make drastic changes to make something work better than it used too. On this farm we changed the rotation, added diversity, and used a planter that was built specifically for this (Any planter will work- just run every other row and double pops) But on this planter they only had to put all the gadgets on half the rows- row cleaners, delta, row cleaners, etc. So it was wheat followed by a diverse cover that had red clover, hairy vetch, rye, and triticale over winter, then planted at 30K no till with a 10-34-0 starter with 1.8 Gallons of humic and fulvic acid in furrow along with 40# of N (28%) along the row. added another 40# N (urea) at V-8.
