The Sushi Tower was originally planned to be built 30 meters high, and the name of the tower was Chunmangdae, meaning "waiting for spring." However, it was built as 28m, which was reduced by 2m due to lack of budget, and after its completion in 1968, it was changed from "Seongsi Tower" to "Seongsi Tower," which means to develop Gunsan City. The Sushi Tower features a ship with open sails and a blazing torch, while the lower part symbolizes a ship model as a port city. Haemang Tunnel Gunsan Haemanggul Cave was built in 1926, when the third construction of Gunsan Port began, to connect downtown Gunsan with Haemang-dong by extending the current central road, which was the busiest street at the time, to the west. Gunsan Haemanggul Cave was designated as National Registered Cultural Heritage No. 184 on June 18, 2005, as it blocked the passage of cars.
