This recording captures a special South Asian Women in Higher Education event delivered as part of South Asian Heritage Month 2025, centred on storytelling, reflection, and collective wisdom. In this virtual session, members of the SAWHE Inner Circle share their roots and routes into Higher Education — offering honest, inspiring reflections on ambition, resilience, identity, and breaking barriers as South Asian women working across UK universities, 🌳 About South Asian Heritage Month (SAHM) South Asian Heritage Month (SAHM) takes place annually in the UK from 18 July to 17 August. It is a time to celebrate South Asian histories, cultures, and contributions, while also creating space for deeper reflection on identity, migration, belonging, and lived experience. The 2025 theme, “Roots to Routes”, invites us to explore where we come from, the journeys we take, and how our personal and professional paths are shaped by heritage, place, and opportunity. This session directly reflects that theme through lived stories from South Asian women in Higher Education. 🌸 About SAWHE The South Asian Women in Higher Education (SAWHE) network is a UK-based community dedicated to supporting, connecting, and amplifying South Asian women working or studying in Higher Education.
