"If I can dream long enough, you'd tell me I'd be just fine I'll be just fine." ►HI EVERYONE! I recently got into the good doctor and binged watched the first three seasons in a few weeks. I shipped Claire with Neil from the first season on, since the adorable elevator scene and the moment he called her special. During s2 I lost any expectation they would become a couple. So I was surprised when they finally got more scenes together in s3 and build this beautiful friendship and relationship. At first I was scared only Claire would fall for him and it would only be one sided, but I am so glad I was wong! Their relationship was one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. The way they connected, balanced each other out, shared perspectives, were there for each other, had fun togeher and opened up to each other was so special. To say Neil's death was painful is an understatement. I am incredibly hurt, sad, frustrated and disappointed that they decided to kill him off for pure shock value after building this relationship over the season. They never even got a hug or a kiss. Especially after what Claire has been trough she deserved some happiness. And the way they handled his death was just another cherry on top. The show is literally about all these complicated cases they state are "inoperable" and then they come up with a brilliant plan and save the person. In the same ep Shaun amputates a women's leg surrounded by rubble, they nearly drown but they both live in the end. The ep ago Claire comes up with the incredible idea to build sth so they can use a woman's own blood for transfusion during her surgery and everyone is in awe of her. And then you're telling me Neil lays in that hospital bed, they all say goodbye and just accept he has to die without even getting together once to brainstorm something to save him. Great coincidence that Shaun wasn't at the hospital at that time too. No thank you. I won't continue the show, because I can't imagine it without him and I don't want to see them grieving or Claire moving on. It's just too hurtful for me. So to cope I decided to edit them. I tried to make the video positive and give it a happy vibe instead of focusing on their heartbreaking ending. It displays how their relationship build up over the seasons, how it was mainly Claire who had a little crush on him in season 1, how he noticed her too and finally Claire's hard time that pushed them together, the little conflict at work that nearly seperated them and the final scenes where Neil gave her the freedom and support to find happiness with another man while both of them realized their feelings for each other. During the last seconds of the video I tried to capture their journey again and how it evolved. I didn't expect to get so attached to these two characters and their relationship, but I really connected to them. They felt very real to me and I fell in love with them and their story just as much. These two will always have a special place in my heart and impacted me in ways I didn't see coming.
