Critiques of economic conditions are common, but how effective are they? In this talk, Claire Krelitz delves into understanding the forces behind America's economic inequality, demonstrating why it is necessary to move beyond passive criticism in cultivating economic equity. Claire Krelitz is a junior Politics and Sociology double major, and an Interdisciplinary Writing minor at Occidental College. She is originally from St. Paul, Minnesota. Claire is very involved in Los Angeles politics surrounding workers’ rights -- she co-founded a student group that partners with two Community Job Centers and currently interns at a public interest law firm. Her academic interests include studying the ways that culture influences the economy and policy. For fun Claire loves to cook and she plays on the Oxy Womxn's Rugby team. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
