Hi, I am Manmohan yogi Founder of Jairam yoga and in this video I will tell you about the benefits of anulom vilom pranayam. First of all, understand what is the exact meaning of the word pranayam. The word “pranayama” is composed of two Sanskrit words, प्राण which means life force, or vital energy, and the word आयाम to extend or draw out. Thus pranayama (प्राणायाम ) means "extension of the prana or breath" or more accurately, "extension of the life force". Pranayama (Sanskrit: ाणायाम pranayama) is a Sanskrit word meaning When you practice Pranayama, there are four steps which are required to complete one cycle of any pranayama. Inhalation (पूरक)~ Inhale slowly, deeply and consistently, breathing in from the core using the diaphragm. Retention (कुम्भक) ~Stage two involves retention of the air inhaled. In Yoga. Exhalation (रेचक)~ This is one of the most important stages. Steadily and slowly, exhale the air retained after inhalation. Your muscles should return to a relaxed state. In yoga, this stage is called Rechaka. Suspend (बाह्य कुम्भक ) ~ Stage four begins right after the end of stage three when lungs are empty. This is a pause, with no movement of air in or out of the lungs. Your muscles should stay relaxed in this stage before you begin the cycle again with stage one. In yoga, this stage is called Bahya Kumbhaka. Anulom Vilom is also called alternate nostril breathing that is inhaling through one nostril, holding the breath in, then exhaling through the other nostril. The sequence is then reversed: inhale through the second nostril, hold the breath in, and exhale through first nostril. Anulom Vilom pranayam has systemic benefits and purifies and corrects the body functions in several ways. Anulom Vilom balances The three doshas of Vata, Kapha and Pitta. Anulom Vilom Improves blood circulation and regulates the Blood pressure and it is very effective for low Blood pressure as well as high Blood pressure . Anulom Vilom is good for the management of Diseases of the muscular system and it is also very beneficial in arthritis. Anulom Vilom is EXTREMELY BENEFICIAL for all the diseases related to respieratory system like sinusitis, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Acute bronchitis,Asthma, Chronic bronchitis, Cystic fibrosis/bronchiectasis, Emphysema, Interstitial lung disease, Pleural effusion, Pleural effusion, Pneumoconiosis, Pneumonia, Pneumothorax, Tuberculosis, and Sinusitis. Anulom Vilom makes the Thinking positive and removes NEGATIVE THOUGHTS and allows you to overcome tension, anger, worry and forgetfulness, anxiety, uneasiness, high blood pressure, migraine and lack of sleep. Anulom Vilom increases Concentration, patience, resoluteness, decision-making ability and creativity, and therefore ANULOM VILOM extremely useful for students. Anulom Vilom Increases oxygen supply throughout the body thus Relieves stress, and makes oneself calm and peaceful. Anulom Vilom is very good for the cardiac patients as it removes the blockages in the arteries of the heart. Anulom Vilom is extremely useful for the diseases related to digestive system because it gently massages the digestive system when you inhale and exhale deeply. and therefore Anulom Vilom is very effective in the treatment of conditions of constipation and all the defects of gastrointestinal system.
