Recettear an Item Shop's Tale is a game about capitalism that has a very loose translation, in a story not quite taking itself seriously to begin with. Capitalism Ho! cries the main character ad she begins her anime adventure to fill her item shop and make as much money as possible. The game has saddled her with her father's debt, something she must pay off or lose her home for good. Being like 6 years old, she listens to a fairy who totally has her best interests at heart and opens an item shop. She then sends adventurers to their doom so that she can make profit in that shop all the while shouting Capitalism Ho! The game also has an optional Dungeon Crawler you hardly need to engage with at all in the game, as the victory condition of this game is meeting your loan payments so you don't get a game over which can be done entirely by buying low and selling high using the wholesale stores and people who want to sell things to your store. I will be engaging with the dungeon crawler a lot because I like the genre.
