【Music】Daybreaker / Nightmare Night

Some time ago, I was commissioned by Cerily to make a companion song for my 2018 track "Daybreaker", one about Nightmare Moon. I had remembered one of my older songs, 2013's "Nightmare Night", all the way back from Winter's End and I was like I think I could rework that into this idea pretty reasonably. It took me a hell of a long time to fully get around to it, and so I offered to also do a new version of Daybreaker in return for taking way too damn long pshahaha. So here we are. Most of my pre-CUTIEMARKS audience know about Daybreaker, in that it was an experiment to try and get into more rock music of any kind in a stage of my artistry where I was trying lots and lots of new avenues. I originally wanted to make rock music when I was a lot younger, and so it was a "return to form", except I STILL had no idea what I was doing. Now, having a lot more rock music under my belt (looking at you, Monarch) it was a reasonable time to try it again. Nightmare Night, on the other hand, is actually a song I originally wrote BEFORE No Matter What, in 2012. Its working title was "Harmony is Lost" and the first project file associated with it is from September 22, 2012. I would have been 13 when I originally conceptualized it. This song eventually got reworked into "Nightmare Night" and then forgotten about until 2013 when I started working on Winter's End with Sylver Stripe. It was renamed to "Nightmare Night Pt. 1" for the album, and would be released as the first of two parts. To this day it was a song I felt was oddly interesting despite being on such an antiquated mess like Winter's End. So I'm pleased to show everyone what it could have been! Anyway, sorry this is like the first canon MLP music I've done since 2023's "tell you". I'm still gonna keep doing stuff like that, I've just gotten rather busy with my own stories. Huzzah!
