VENICE, CA — Thursday, December 18, 2025 — Less than 24 hours after a previous cleanup, city crews returned to the public parking lot at 301 S. Main Street near Rose Avenue for another coordinated multi-agency operation aimed at maintaining sanitation, safety, and accessibility in the area. The effort was led by the Department of Public Works with support from the Los Angeles Police Department, Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Environmental Compliance Inspectors (ECI), the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), and a homeless coordinator from Councilwoman Traci Park’s office. Sanitation crews, outreach workers, hazmat specialists, and law-enforcement officers worked jointly to remove accumulated debris and address encampment-related items throughout the lot. Advance cleanup notices were posted in compliance with Los Angeles Municipal Code §56.11, advising unhoused individuals to temporarily vacate so crews could conduct sanitation work. Inspectors distributed 60-gallon bags and explained the regulations to those present. Several individuals gathered their belongings and complied, enabling cleanup crews to proceed. Environmental Compliance Inspectors and Clean Harbors personnel identified and removed hazardous materials—including batteries and aerosols—while Public Works teams collected trash, bulky items, and other debris. Representatives from Councilwoman Traci Park’s office coordinated among departments, while LAHSA outreach workers provided information about supportive housing, mental-health services, and resource assistance. No arrests were made. One parking citation was issued to a vehicle along South Main Street. Santa Monica Closeup continues documenting public-space maintenance, homelessness outreach, and multi-agency operations across the Westside. #VeniceBeach #Homelessness #PublicSafety #LAPD #LawEnforcement #CopWatch
