Walking the World | Little Amal Finds a Home at the UN
Little Amal is a giant puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl traveling the world in search of a home. How will we welcome her? On 16 Sep 2022, the puppet visited the United Nations ahead of the Transforming Education Summit and met with Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed. Amal represents the millions of displaced children everywhere and reminds us that education is a basic human right. Since July 2021 the puppet has travelled over 5,000 miles across 12 countries. From 14 September to 2 October the puppet is touring all five boroughs of New York City. Little Amal Walks NYC was produced by the Walk Productions and St Anns Warehouse in association with Handspring Puppet Company. Videography by Respective Collective and LOFT Films.
