This simple design is fast and easy to make, and can be made to fit any plastic or clay pot. Using rhizome clips helps your orchids grow new roots after being repotted, without being disturbed. This results in healthier orchids that flower more often. Making your own rhizome clips saves you money. After repotting an orchid it is important that the plant does not move too much in the pot so that new roots are not damaged. The best way to hold it in place is to use rhizome clips. This video will show you how to make rhizome clips out of old wire. It takes two minutes to make a clip that fits the pot you are using. Take a piece of wire and bend a hook in it. Then squeeze the hook tight so that it fits on the side of the pot. Bend the long side so that it will be horizontal to the top of the pot, and cut it to the right length.
