On Lullabies and Collective Fabulations: А performative conversation. ImPulsTanz festival, 2024

How can a lullaby as a very intimate format become a collective space for fabulation? Through movement and social choreography scores, whispers and communal writing games, food-sharing and listening sessions Polina Fenko invites the public to move/ think of the function and the context of lullabies, which carry themes of hope and loss, longing and fear, mortality and existential reflection. This performative conversation in a participatory form is open to anyone without any prior experience in dance or trained movement. This work-in-progress was presented at ImPulsTanz festival in Vienna in the frame of Atlas residency-scholarship in 2024. Polina Fenko, born 1997 in Saint Petersburg, is a Berlin-based dance artist and dance dramaturge. Driven by an interest in alternative forms of knowledge production she organises multidisciplinary laboratories that create spaces for experiential education and discussions in other than verbal types of communication.
