The first is without a shadow of a doubt one of the Lisbon hidden gems Called 'Livraria Simao' - believed to be the world's smallest bookshop. And the second is certainly an attractive and very historic site in Lisbon named 'Livraria Bertrand' - considered to be the oldest bookstore in the world still operating today. Well, founded in 1732 in Lisbon Portugal, this bookshop was actually the most important library in Portugal where very famous Portuguese writers have been gathering to discuss their literature and creative writing ideas. Today, after being destroyed by an earthquake and other natural disasters, the original bookstore in Lisbon's Chiado neighborhood was declared by the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest, operating bookstore in the world in 2011.
