Witness to the Future 25th Anniversary
Filmmaker Branda Miller's groundbreaking documentary "Witness to the Future" premiered in 1996 at at a fundraising event for the Rensselaer County environmental justice group Residents Against Mining, featuring Center for Health, Environment and Justice founder Lois Gibbs speaking before a capacity audience at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Chapel & Cultural Center in Troy, NY. Residents Against Mining went on to win a landmark decision against Lane Construction to block the demolition of Snake Hill in Nassau, NY. Branda Miller and co-producer Robin Reidy speak with interviewer Corinne Carey of WOOC 105.3 FM's Hudson Mohawk Magazine about the intervening 25 years. The 25th anniversary screening of "Witness to the Future" is part of the North Troy Environmental Justice Film Festival, produced by The Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy, NY.
