Hi, im a tibetan american vlogger and in this hike im visiting nepal. This is also my first hike in nepal . The hike is a 2 day journey from pokhara to Khumai dada. In this vlog 'll show you how to get to the trailhead, how much money you will spend etc. The Khumai Danda Trek can be completed in 2 Days and will quench your thirst for being close to nature and the Himalayas as you walk through the blossoming rhododendron forests while the views of the majestic snow-capped mountains accompany you. Since the trek is short, it is a perfect trekking option for trekkers with limited time in Nepal or for the Nepalese willing to explore the hidden gems of Nepal. The unadulterated scenery, remote trail, and easy walk make Khumai Dada Trek the talk of the town. Day 1: Drive from Pokhara to harichowk and then to sadipakha and trek to Hile Kharka sadipakha is the starting point of the trek. Hence, in the morning, you will drive from Pokhara to sadippakha, which will take around 30 minutes. On the trail ahead, you will cross the Mardi Khola River and pass through the forests of blooming rhododendron flowers and the village settlement of Lhachok, Ghachowk and Tubu. After walking for almost 3 hours, you will arrive at Hile Kharka, which offers astounding sights of the Macchapuchre, Annapurna ranges, and Lamjung Himal. Day 2: Trek to Khumai Danda The walk from Hile Kharka to Khumai Danda is mostly through the forest area adorned with rhododendron trees, so there is no doubt that you will be in love with the place. Walking past Chichimle, Deurali, and Lobruchu, enjoying the views of the Bhurjung Khola and Macchapuchre Himal, the destination gets nearer. After a few hours of walking on a grassy hill and narrow trail, the path opens to Khumai Hill, offering majestic views of Annapurna, Macchapuchre, and Dhaulagiri. Day 3: Hike to Korchan Danda and Trek down to Ghachok and drive to Kathmandu One of the major highlights of the Khumai Danda trek is the sunrise view from Korchan Danda. Elevating at 3660m, Korchan Danda can be reached with an easy uphill climb. Once you arrive at the destination, you can enjoy the view of golden rays of sunlight hitting the snow-capped pinnacles. Apart from this, the views of Mardi Himal, Annapurna ranges, and Macchapuchre is worth capturing from the vantage point. After spending some memorable time and clicking pictures with the backdrop of the Himalayas, you will head down the hill enjoying the views of the Himalayas to Ghachowk. You can stay in Ghachowk or Saripakha for the night or drive to Pokhara. Permits required for Khumai Danda Trek: 'The Khumai Danda is located in the Annapurna region at an elevation of 3245m. Hence, you will need two different permits for the trek, namely: TIMS and ACAP. Trekker's Information Management System (TIMS): This is a mandatory permit required to trek in all of the trekking regions of Nepal. While it costs $20 for foreigners, it is free for Nepali. Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP): Since you will be walking through the Annapurna Conservation area throughout the trip, you will also require ACAP, which costs $30 for foreigners, $10 for SAARC National and Rs. 100 for Nepali. Best time for Khumai Danda Trek: The maximum elevation gain during the Khumai Danda trek is 3660m at Korchan Hill. The trail is comparatively easy and more comfortable than the other treks of Nepal. So, this trek can be done throughout the year. In addition, the beauty of Khumai Hill refines with every season. If you are trekking in the Spring season (March to May), you will witness the trekking trails filled with colourful rhododendron flowers and clear views of the mountains. Trekking in Autumn (September to November) allows you to enjoy the pleasant atmosphere and clear skies. Since the temperature is lovely at the time, you can sense the crisp mountain air, soothing sun and magical views. However, trekking in winter (December to February) and Monsoon (June to August) offers a completely different experience. In the winter, the trail is filled with snow, and the views of snow-capped pinnacles are worth admiring. In the monsoon, when it is not raining, the views are clear, and with the hill covered with blooming wildflowers, you will not want to take your eyes off the beautiful Khumai Danda. Food, Accommodation and Transportation: The Khumai Danda trek is a newly discovered yet popular trekking destination in the Annapurna region. Hence, you will not spot many teahouses on the way. However, the available teahouses provide basic accommodation facilities and meals required by the trekkers. Their menu consists of several items like the Nepali staple Dal-bhat and other dishes like Pasta, Noodles, and other snacks and drinks. Since this trek has several starting points like Hemja, Ghachowk, Saripakha and Mardi Pul, you can hire a taxi or catch a local jeep or bus from Pokhara and reach the desired destination.
