The following interview was originally conducted via email with Martin “Myrkhaal” Marcotte (vocals & keyboards) and was posted in my old ‘zine, Lunar Hypnosis on July 8th, 2004. Frozen Shadows is one of the first Quebeccan black metal bands, along with their earlier band, Tenebre, they helped put Quebec on the map with their 90’s output. Even more so, Myrkhaal’s own Sepulchral Productions has been an immensely important record label having released now legendary records from the likes of; Gris, Forteresse, Monarque, and Sombres Forêts. If you’ve somehow overlooked this band, I implore you to check them out! This interview was conducted just slightly after their second and final album, “Hantises,” and about two years before Sepulchral Productions sprang to life and began releasing music regularly.
