4K Colorado State Highway 125 (CO-125) From Walden, Colorado To US-40 After The Cameron Peak Fire We've explored the areas around Colorado State Highway 125 (CO-125) a few times while we've lived in Colorado. This was the first time we were able to capture this road on video. It happens to also be only a few short years after the Cameron Peak Fire that ignited back on August 13, 2020. This fire became the largest wildlife in Colorado's history and was not able to 100% contained until December 2, 2020. The Cameron Peak Fire burned over 200,000 acres of national forest and park lands. It touched 3 different counties: Larimer County, Jackson County, & Grand County. The national forest land it burned was parts of the Arapaho National Forest and Roosevelt National Forest. The national park land it burned was part of the Rocky Mountain National Park. In addition to the massive nature that was burnt, this fire destroy over 400 residential homes and buildings too. In this video you'll see areas of scorched lands but you'll also see the amazing resilience of the Colorado nature as it brings itself back to life. With more years of time to heal, this roadway will once again be surrounded by lush thick forest. Once the forest lands return, so to will more wildlife return! We love Colorado.
