In this video, Dr. Puru Dhawan talks about How to increase GFR( Glomerular Filtration Rate) and lower Creatinine levels. Steps to calculate GFR at home : Creatinine can be used to determine GFR levels. 1. Search on Google 2. GFR calculator 3. then you will find many websites 4. on those sites, you will find a GFR calculator 5. then enter your creatinine level, age, and gender respectively on the given options. Kidney patient can increase GFR levels by decreasing creatinine levels if kidney patient does not manage it's creatinine levels then GFR will remain constantly decreasing. As we all know creatinine is the waste protein of the body which accumulates in the body due to the slow functioning of the kidney and constant intake of protein in the body increases creatinine levels. To reduce creatinine levels in the body firstly avoid protein consumption totally. Foods to avoid that contain the protein are: 1. Chicken/ meat/ fish 2. Dairy products 3. Lentils(dal) Avoid heavyweight exercises. Foods we recommend to kidney patient are: 1. Rice 2. Wheat 3. Jaw These cereals provide carbohydrates to the body, which in the further process form into proteins and complete the protein requirement of the body. Taking protein in the form of these cereals is good for the kidney other than taking protein in kind of chicken, meat, fish, etc. By stopping direct protein intake in the body and start having carbohydrates, reduces the production waste material in the body and if waste material is not forming the body then automatically creatinine levels start declining which will reduce creatinine levels in the kidney patient. Other easily digestible protein food items are pulses like 1. Moong dal 2. Masoor ki dal 3. Moth ki dal These 3 pulses items are easily digestible and provide a good amount of protein and fulfill the need of protein of the body which is healthy for #kidney patient and maintain the level weight of kidney patient.
