Norwegian became the first European airline to operate the Boeing 737 MAX in July 2017, and operates around 30 such aircraft as of the summer of 2025. Join me as I fly on one of them from Rome Fiumicino to Oslo. This was my first time flying on one of Norwegian's 737 MAX aircraft, and overall the experience was quite decent. Although the seats were slimline ones, they were comfortable enough, and legroom wasn't too terrible either. The seats also recline, which is not always the case on low-cost airlines, and I think the 737 MAX provides plenty of space for your carry-on baggage in the overhead compartments. Other than that, the flight was well on time despite boarding starting slightly late, the crew were okay, and the panini from the BoB menu was very tasty! There were no USB ports or WiFi however, which I think is a bit of a pity on such a new aircraft. Before the flight, a visit is also paid to the Primeclass lounge at Fiumicino's Terminal 1, where I purchased a 1-hour pass for 25€. It's a fairly nice lounge with a modern interior and a well-stocked buffet, but which lacks natural light.
