Watch in 1440p for the best quality! Hanuda, Japan, 2003. In Siren, you play a variety of characters from a teacher, old man, priest, and doctor, to a little girl trying to survive as the world turns into the underworld. You use what is known as sight jacking, which means seeing from the perspective of your enemies known as Shibito. It's a very stealth-based horror game with lots of puzzles and limited weapons as you don't always have a lot of options to defend yourself. Distracting and avoiding your enemies is usually your best bet to beat the missions. Sometimes you'll have some ammo, but not a lot. It's best to use your supplies wisely. I have condensed the two missions into one for consistency and for a better understanding of the story. I have also used the original Japanese version because I haven't seen anyone besides maybe Gab Smolders' Let's Play of Siren where she translated her playthrough. Not everything could be translated (such as some Shibito lines) and I'm not fluent in Japanese. Just wanted to make this because I'm a huge fan and this game is tough and confusing for first-timers. This adds the best version of voice acting. I put the story chronologically as the original game tells the story out of order. Also, there are no archives in the movie. I recommend watching a separate video to learn more about the story. This is the second best way to enjoy Siren if you cannot beat the game or don't want to deal with the trial and error of the game or the dub. The gameplay is not perfect, but I tried to cut down a lot of slow parts this game has a lot of sneaking around and walking, as it's an important way to beat the missions. I used Reshade to enhance quality but around the last 100 minutes I switched from Direct3D to Vulkan for better performance on the emulator and Reshade stopped working for me with OBS. Maybe some of you will prefer this. I just wanted to enhance the quality a bit without changing too much. I also tried removing some frame stutter or minor issues throughout the movie. I've rewatched this multiple times, so sorry If I missed anything. This game runs at 30fps maximum. I also recorded in 60fps to keep the good video framerate though sometimes the gameplay framerate may drop a few occasions (from 30fps to 20fps) for a couple seconds, but it shouldn't take away the experience overall. Tried to make this the best I could. Last but not least, here's the software I used and ReShade settings if you want to play like me. It's my first time doing something like this, but I hope you enjoyed it! I've been working on this since June and wanted to celebrate the 21st anniversary of Siren and the release of Keiichiro Toyama's new horror game, Slitterhead, on November 8.
