Rob: Hey everybody. It's Rob here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer on our 2020 Coachmen Pursuit Motorhome. Now what our steering stabilizer's going to do for us is it is going to help stabilize the steering wheel. Because you haven't noticed whenever you're driving your motorhome down the road, if we hit a rut in the road, or if there's a big crosswind, we end up fighting the steering wheel, trying to keep it straight; especially if we're on the highway, there's a little bit of a crown. So, that can end up causing our motorhome to veer to the side. And again, we're fighting the steering wheel. We're shifting in our seat. By the time we're getting where we're going, we're going to be exhausted from having to concentrate and to keep moving around in the seat. Not to mention everybody in the back, who's getting tossed around; all the gear and stuff we have, making a bunch of noise. It's just not that enjoyable. Before we actually install anything, we want to take our motorhome out on the test course, and get a nice baseline run to see how everything handles, and go over some of the symptoms that we're getting. Now I'm going to come up to the bumps course here. We'll go over the bumps, right about five miles an hour. Now the bumps aren't going to give us a whole lot of feedback because that's going to be more of an up and down action. But there are alternating speed bumps, which is definitely going to help out with that twisting action and that rolling feeling, and even the steering wheel when it starts to go to the left and the right. You can definitely feel and see that swing going on. And again, I'm only going about five miles an hour. It's not like I'm speeding through these, but it's got a lot of a mushy feeling. And even after the bumps are over, we kind of continue to rock a little bit. That to mention, the steering wheel is having to grab it to get it back to center, and make sure I'm going straight. No, those things definitely can happen while you're driving on the road. Because these are speed bumps, so the same type of thing would happen if you hit a pothole. And now we're going to come up to our slalom course. And in our slalom course, I'm going to be going in and out of the turns, about 10 miles an hour again. So, get a nice baseline rolling. And as I'm going through the first couple of turns here, honestly, I don't know if I really want to go much more than 10 miles an hour because it does, it just feels very loose. And I genuinely kind of need to slow down. And again, it has that really big leaning feelings, almost where it almost feels like it's really top heavy and it wants to lean, and then turn; which is kind of nerve-wracking. To be honest, I can only imagine what it's like when you're doing about 60, 65 going down the highway.Don't get me wrong; it's not a horrible. It's not to the point where I wouldn't want to drive it at all. But it's definitely a very soft feeling. I don't feel as in control as I would like to. So again, I got a firm grip on the steering wheel, and even just sitting here going through the parking lot, I'm a little tensed up. So, over a really long period of time, I could imagine that this would not be very enjoyable to drive. And really again, the whole point of having a motorhome is so that we can use it. If we can alleviate a lot of those symptoms, make ourselves a little bit more comfortable driving, that would be a great thing so that we can get on the road, and enjoy ourselves with our friends and family. Now that we have our components installed, we're going to take our motorhome back out on the test course, and see what kind of improvements we got out of it.As I turn around to go back to the rest of our course, you can actually start to see the steering stabilizer work on its own, as I go to turn and make this U-turn in the parking lot. Once I get through the turn, I'm just going to start to loosen my grip on the steering wheel. And you can see it starts to straighten out just like a car, wherever you're pulling in a parking lot, parking spot, you turn. But then once you get going straight again, the wheel wants to come back. And that's clearly showing us that our steering stabilizer is working, and I'm not having to overcompensate for
