Clinical Area Innovation Award Winner: Virtual Ward Team In collaboration with the HSE and Limerick University Hospital, the team introduced a ground-breaking initiative to deliver care from the comfort of patients’ homes, showing how innovation can truly reshape our services for better outcomes. Non-Clinical Area Innovation Award (Sponsored by St. Vincent’s Healthcare Group) Winner: ICU Team – Ireland’s Fittest ICU By launching a nationwide challenge for ICU staff, this incredible team has set a powerful example of how healthcare institutions can proactively address the well-being of their staff, ultimately contributing to better patient care. Rising Star Award (Sponsored by St. Vincent’s Healthcare Group) Winner: Dr Alessandro Franciosi, Respiratory Medicine Since joining SVUH, Dr Franciosi has led transformative initiatives that have enhanced patient care, education, and the work environment, inspiring colleagues along the way. He was also tasked with coaching the Hospital Cup rugby team and successfully led SVUH to win the competition. Coaching, Mentoring, Research, Education, & Training Award Winner: Imelda Noone, Nursing A pioneer for Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Imelda’s commitment to mentoring and developing CNSs and ANPs has had a lasting impact, not only within SVUH but also across hospitals in Ireland. Excellence in Leadership Award (Sponsored by Roche) Winner: Eithne Thompson, Pathology Eithne’s supportive and detail-oriented leadership has made her a vital part of her team, driving high standards and promoting a positive and collaborative work environment. Best Team Award (Sponsored by Kate Cowhig Recruitment) Winner: AMU Team The AMU team consistently delivers excellence in patient care under intense pressure, setting the standard for teamwork and professionalism across the hospital. Quality Improvement Award Winner: National Cancer Information System (NCIS) Project Team This team’s work in implementing SVUH’s first Electronic Prescribing & Medication Administration system has streamlined critical processes and improved patient safety, making a tangible difference across SVUH in anticancer medicine administration. Unsung Hero Award (Sponsored by T-Pro) Winner: Idrissa Drame, Stock Manager, Emergency Department A key figure in SVUH’s Emergency Department, Idrissa keeps everything running smoothly with a smile, ensuring the ED is always well-stocked and efficient.
