This is day 9 of bike touring Irelands Wild Atlantic Way. I wake up on Portnoo beach after wild camping the night. I know today will be my hardest challenge yet. I am about the face the notorious glengesh pass in Donegal. I’ve heard of people skipping this part of the wild Atlantic route. But I won’t skip any part of it I’ll go straight through it, no matter how vertical the roads ahead will be. I set off to bikepack through the valleys, up hills and around bogs to get to the beautiful silver strand. Silver strand turned out to be my favourite beach in Ireland. It must of been one of the most scenic places I’ve camped.
