The Patta fort (Vishramgad Fort) was built during the Bahamani Sultanate ( 1347-1490 AD ). Its possession then went to the tribal Koli Mahadev tribe, a local resident of the place, after which its possession passed to the Nizamshahi of Ahmednagar. A.D. Mughals conquered this fort in 1627. The fort is at a height of 882 meters above sea level. At the base of the fort is the temple of Kurdai Devi. There is a water tank on the left side before entering the fort entrance. The fort can be accessed through a relic entrance after climbing the steps dug into the rock. The highest peak of the fort is a cone. After entering through the entrance, a quarter of a ruined building can be seen. In front of it is a one meter high Hanuman idol. In front of this idol is a nature-made chasm that can easily seat 100 to 150 people. There are two big cones in the fort itself and this big cone is Gadmatha. After going around the cone, the area between the two cones is fenced off. The embankment is in good condition. A giant crevasse can be seen as one moves past the ramparts. Can't go any further from here. It is dangerous to proceed from here. One has to gallop through the small space between the crack and the main cone. As there is a gap on one side, there is a fear of falling. It does not take much time to visit the fort. This fort must have been built to monitor the movement on the Tamhini Ghat. A panoramic view of Konkan can be seen from here. Jite village at the base of the hill is reached by car from Mangaon. Its ascent starts from there. The lesser-known Kurdugad was under the rule of Pasalkar, a Shiva dynasty. Baji Pasalkar of the Pasalkar family was the Sardar of Chhatrapati Shivajiraj. Baji Pasalkar used Kurdugad for rest. Hence this fort is also called Vishramgad. A.D. In 1671, Patta fort was won by Moro Trimbak Pingle for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and joined the Swarajya. [1] A.D.
