Born and brought-up in a music-loving family at Gwalior in 1953, Mukund startedlearning Tabla at a tender age of seven by Pandit Yashwant Rao Shirgaonkar (Gwalior), a disciple of Pandit Yashwant Rao Kerkar of Mumbai. Late Shri N. R. Bhale and the rigorous „Taaleem‟ by his guru established him as achild artist. As a child prodigy, he had performed in a music concert organized after the wedding of Shrimant Madhav Rao Scindhia. Late Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindhia presented a Silver „hammer‟ ) as she was highly impressed with Mukund‟s performance. Mukund is known for his crisp and aesthetically rich handling of Tabla and Bayan. The total brilliance and sensitive touch of Tabla and Bayan makes him a different artist. His refined accompaniment and dynamic solo performances have acclaimed praises by many stalwarts and the media. He has six foreign tours to his credit including England, U.S.A., Germany, Russia, France, Switzerland, Holland, Italy, Poland and a few more countries for accompaniment and solo performances. He is a well known „guru‟. Many students have been awarded national scholarships under his tutelage. Besides being an established tabla player and a renowned guru, Mukund Bhale has been nominated as a subject expert in almost all the Indian universities, University Grants Commission and other institutions. Mukund Bhale - an artist known for his experimental thoughts has a long span of teaching to his credit. He has also prepared the introductory course of Tabla and Mridangam for school level for NCERT, New Delhi. He has always prepared courses keeping in mind that music is a practical art. The knowledge of ancient Indian texts and its relevance are some interesting and highlighting parts of his teaching. He has worked as Dean,Faculty of Music from march 2012 to march 2014 Tansen Samaroh (Gwalior), Maihar Samaroh (Maihar), Chakradhar Samaroh (Raigarh), Ganga Mahotsava (Varanasi), Ustad Amir Khan Samaroh (Indore), Pt. Kumar Gandharva Samaroh (Dewas), Lucknow Mahotsav (Lucknow) are some prestigious festivals where he has performed. A galaxy of eminent vocalist and instrumentalists are there with whom Mukund Bhale has had honour of sharing the stage with. The names include – Pt. Kumar Gandharva, Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Pt. Prabhakar Karekar, Pt. Buddhaditya Mukherjee, Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt, Ustad Haleem Zafar Khan, Dr Prabha Atre, Pt. Ajay Pohenkar, Vidushi Shoba Gurtu, Pt. Rajan and Sajan Mishra, Pt. Buddhadeo Das Gupta, Ustad Shahid Parwez and many others. A long teaching experience furnished him with new dimensions in teaching. Since his joining as a lecturer, he has been working with the preparation of syllabus for his own university as well as for other universities as expert member. Sarwar Hussain Born on 5th October 1981 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh; received training in Sarangi under the tutelage of Shri Abdul Lateef Khan; has imbibed the family tradition of playing the Sarangi from a young age; has performed widely within the country and abroad including the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai, the Saptak Samaroh, Ahmedabad (1995), Swarn Samaroh, SNA, Delhi (1997), Sur Singar Samsad’s Kal Ke Kalakar, Mumbai (1997), Tansen Sanmaroh, Gwalior (1999), Ustad Allauddin Khan Sangeet Samaroh, Maihar (2000), Vasant Rao Deshpande Sangeet Samaroh, Nagpur (2001) and Chakradhar Samaroh, Raigarh (2001); has represented India in South Korea in the year 1997 and toured extensively to USA in 2001; received many awards including the Laxmi Bala Samman conferred by the All India Radio, Bhopal and title of ‘Sur Mani’ from Haridas Sangeet Sammelan, Mumbai; has many recordings to his credit. Sarwar Husain receives the Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for Hindustani instrumental music.
