The Spirit of God appeared in bodily form as a dove and came upon Jesus. One of the truths about the Holy Spirit is in respect to His communications with us. Other birds chirp or tweet, caw or sing, but the doves’ coo does not call attention to itself. In the midst of morning bird sounds, you have to listen for that something other in order to recognize her still, small voice. Unless your ears are tuned to hear subtleties, all you will hear is the chatter of the other birds. Likewise, to hear the Spirit’s voice, you have to learn what He sounds like so you know what to listen for. He speaks in Scripture, He speaks to our heart.
