Toronto Raptors General Manager Bobby Webster said that the addition of Brandon Ingram at the trade deadline on Thursday is “an important step in the rebuild.” Webster addressed Ingram’s impending free agency as well saying “Brandon wants to be here. I think this was sort of an intentional sort of effort and decision by him so we appreciate that… we’re comfortable where we are.” “Offensively he’s incredibly talented,” the Raptors General Manager said, adding the team “can play a little bigger with Brandon, Scottie and [Jakob Poeltl],” in the starting line-up. Ingram, 27, is a one-time All-Star who joins the Toronto Raptors after several years as a member of the New Orleans Pelicans. The Raptors parted with Bruce Brown, Canadian Kelly Olynyk, a 2026 first round draft pick (via the Indiana Pacers) and a 2031 2nd round draft pick to acquire Ingram, who will be a free agent this coming offseason.
